Where is your proof? Just a question. I see lots of people on here talk about how USC would get demolished if they played in the SEC and all that. What are your assumptions based on?That's a darn good answer, quiet tiger. Thanks.

It's just assumptions, same as the Pac-10 squackers proclaiming LSU and Florida wouldn't last in the Pac-10.People can assume anything, even without proof.Personally, I think the arguments are stupid bordering on pathetic. I'm tired of hearing about West/East Coast bias and people bitching and whining about polls less than halfway through the season. Let the teams play, damn it!

To answer as unbias as I can, I think its because of the similarities in talent as far as speed and athletes go.The SEC is a physical style of football where as the Pac-10 is more offense and not as much defense.  USC has never been just lights out on defense, Vince showed us that. The teams in the SEC are physical and while I think USC could contend there, I think the argument is legit, they will not dominate the SEC like they dominate PAC. I give the PAC credit for being somewhat strong last year and this year they are neck and neck with the SEC, but the years prior to these two the conference was set up for SC to look dominate. But they would have to contend with teams who actually contend for the national championship and not just the conference.

Hmm lets see, I think that USC almost got beat by Washington who? Yea the team Ohio State destroyed right? Yea thats right, and thats how USC fell to #2 in the nation. Im so sick of you pathetic USC fans getting #1 and #2 every single year because of a schedule with mediocre at best teams. Now my proof is this. Who won the National Title the last time USC was in the title game? I think it was Texas, a team who simply used one guy to do it all. LSU would defeat USC anyday of the week! I want to see USC go undefeated against a schedule of Florida, then Auburn, then LSU, then Kentucky, then Tennessee, then Georgia, then South Carolina, then Alabama, then Arkansas. They wouldnt survive it, and I guarantee they would lose 3 or 4 of those games. Southern Cal just has a great recruiting ability but no schedule. Their the same as Hawaii, but with better players. And if you say... well how does USC go undefeated all the time....here is my answer. When you play teams who are down all the time like Oregon, Cal, UCLA, or Az State.... your players dont have to fight their hindends off every week to survive on saturdays. Southern Cal's players simply rest more due to not playing anyone. Then once they get to the big game, they choke like against Texas when they were used to playing crap teams all year. That was with Leinart, Bush, their line White, Jarrett, and Smith.... all are mostly in the NFL and were high draft picks. Who did Texas have? Vince Young and a good DB in Huff. After Texas barely survived some games like against Oklahoma State or Oregon State I cant remember....but they were down by like 20 or 30 and came back. Texas wasnt the best team in the nation that year. Did you not see what Florida done to OSU last year? Man you got a lot to learn about college football. Lemme tell ya!

There is the rumor that floats around the country, East-defense, West-offense. Precious few in either area have ever actually seen the other play. They just parrot what the sports writers an TV commentators say.By contrast I have seen both play, up close and personal. Right on the sidelines.  To say that USC does not play "lights out " defense is so far from the truth. My location is quite close to the visiting team in the Coliseum. I hear the coaches from the other teams, both in conference and visiting from other parts of the country. I have heard complete frustration at trying to play offense against the Trojans. None other than Auburn being just destroyed trying to run or pass. Ditto The Arkansas Hawgs. Ask Michigan about SC defense last year in the Rose Bowl. Final proof is the many defensive players in the NFL from USC. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, have some crow.Yes, Texas just demolished the Trojans, by all of 3 points, a real shellacking.
