They did so well last year and now they are just as crappy as the year before last.  Maybe the NFL gave them a good season so the team wouldn't have to leave New Orleans.  What do you all think?

I would not put it past the NFL to of "helped" the saints out but I think alot of it was pure luck and the fact that alot of the tougher teams they faced were in slumps when they played them. But yes the Saints were just a one year feel good story. There only win in the playoffs last year was against the eagles in new Orleans and they only won by a field goal. Then they get crushed by the bears.

I was kinda thinking something like that too... as if maybe the games were fixed or something. Like remember right after 9/11 all of a sudden the patriots came out and started kicking everyone's as s out of no where?? I'm not really lookin into all this... but hey, ya never know.

i have been thinking about this since last year....they were too forunate to be that good, it could have been a setup, as long as they didnt win the superbowl. but thats too impossible, i dont think all the teams would want to lose on purpose aganist the new orleans mermaids

But did you notice this? Last year the Saints held their preseason drills in San Antonio, Texas as well as their first few games.Think it might have something to do with all the partying New Orleans if famous or unfamous for depending on how you look at it.

The NFL schedule is set in stone except for a few games.  The NFL then puts playoff teams against playoff teams from the previous year to "even things out" ... and also to help with marketing.

Yeah right. Set up by the NFL???  It would have to be set up by every franchise in the league.  Yeah I'm sure Jerry Jones and others were willing to lay down and loss money in order for the Saints to have a winning record.  Oh and the Year before last they went to the Playoffs and won their first playoff game.  So let me remind you that this is football so put you conspiracy theory away.  All it takes is a couple of injures and trades to turn a Super Bowl team into a Super Boring team.
