What makes you think the drivers get that amount $$$ ? The drivers win that money for the owners .The owners have to pay many employees ,plus the drivers, transportation for all the crew and autos .replacement of cars and also for backup cars .Na scar also get their hands in it as the teams also have fees to pay Nascar and fines and so on and so on. Sure there is a high pay going to the drivers but remember they pay very dearly for life .health and accident insurance .It is a known fact that many of the drivers donate to children and animal centers thousands of the $$ they earn from racing.

NASCAR has the call and I respect it. God knows, they are way off base on a lot of stuff but they know  who legally won. Management is ruining the sport but they had a good system in place when Bill Sr. left.

As long s it was not Juan P Montoya and it was a fair win . From what I saw Biffle was on the bottom running into the grass area (out of gas?) Montoya had blew his tire .Caution was out ,I think Biffel had left the race as he was just coasting way behind the lead car and was almost to a dead stop......

Yes it is very interesting to see, ecspecially the guys that didn't do well that day who made more money than the guys who finished ahead of them.

Well if Stewart had one when it was raining you could have called that not fair...so really there is no way to really tell who would have one. I mean yes I would have rather seen racing till the end of the race to determine who one....but for that time of day/night the race needed to stop and that is who wins by rule. I think they should change the rules up in the future...maybe...

No... it's NUNYA in my book.  What they earn they deserve to earn. Don't forget, those winnings are not the sole possession of the driver, they go to the "team"... which includes everyone from the tire-changers, to engine maintenance, to agent, to owner.  That money gets spread far and wide.VAROOOOOOOOOM!  GO J-GORDON!

It is misleading.  That is how much the car owner makes.  Then he has to pay salaries to everyone on the team, including the driver.  The driver also gets money from sponsors and product sales.Go Jr.>>>>

Nascar makes up their own rules with every new race.  Biffle didn't cross the finish line behind the pace car...Bowyer did.  Before next weeks race, Nascar will tell us who will win!  Then the race will go on as scheduled...but we will already know the winner.Keep up the good work Nascar---make all new rules for every race!

I am not a Tony Stewart fan by any means, however, after that long of a rain delay, they should have called the race and awarded Tony the win.  Once they saw that they would not be able to complete the race, it should never have been restarted.  The rest of the race was a screwed up mess right up to and including the ending.  Biffle did not win that race, he was given the win.

well just to stick up for you... I don't think you stated anywhere in your question that the money doesn't get parted in different directions.. would like to know whether that is their cut after owner and team, or the team cut period.. but thanks to your question I have another way to make the race last a little longer... so I will have to start taking a look at those earnings in the papers the next day.. thanks for your question.
